very supported by the government and reaching these triumphs is a task that
makes it more difficult, besides Colombia’s history has marked not only the
country but also the world in relation to the low stereotype of drugs. As Egan mentioned "In Colombia, we have
many social problems and my victory in the Tour was able to give them a break
and inspire many people. Sport unites us and provides opportunities for many of
our compatriots. It motivates me to do things well for Colombia."

As a result, in the year 2019 started of a new great cycling and the rider from Zipaquira won his first grand tour and took the victory after 21 demanding days, he completed the Tour de France in 82 hours and 57 minutes becoming the first Colombian and the youngest Latin American to take home the title.
